“You two can go, one, two.” It was my first state championship race, and my hurdle coach had just predetermined me runner-up. The two fingers he put in front of my face summarized the second-place finishes to my senior teammate all season. So, I decided to make a choice: see the two fingers as second place or a victory sign. I chose victory. Minutes later, I ran a PR and was a 55-meter hurdle state champion. 

That race and that decision would forever change my life. I would always choose to win. I went on to win three more Maryland state hurdle titles and become a scholar-athlete at the 
University of Southern California (USC).

In 2009, I founded GreenRunner, the Run Faster Company. And now I get to help people run faster towards their goals and dreams : )
